At Pa Hin Ngam National Park, Thep Satit District, Chaiyaphum Province Besides getting lost in the scene of blossoming Krajiew flowers, visitors will be in awe of the local music instrument shows such as 'Pong-lang' band, Khan (bamboo trumpet), Klong Seng (a local drum). To add more fun to the festival, visitors will enjoy hand-made Krajiew flowers competition, Krajiew flowers painting competition, exhibitions and mountain bikes.
Getting There - By Bus
Take the air-conditioned bus from Bangkok to Thep Satit District, Chaiyaphum Province, departs everyday at Morchit Bus Terminal 2. The road trip takes about 5 hours. The one-way bus fare is 198 baht. After alighting from the bus, catch a chartered van or Song-taew (two-rowed pick-up truck) to reach Pa Hin Ngam National Park. The fare is approximately 20 baht per person.
Getting There - By Train
Take the train from Bangkok to Nongkhai at the Central Railway Station or Hua Lum Pong, Bangkok. Get off the train at Watabak Railway Station, Chaiyaphum province. Then catch a chartered van or a local bus to reach Pa Hin Ngam National Park. The fare is approximately 20 baht per person.
Getting There - By Car
Depart Bangkok by taking the highway no. 1 (Phaholyothin Road). Drive till reaching Saraburi Province. Then take the highway no. 21 to pass through Lopburi Province. Look for a sign of the highway no. 205 and turn right on that road. Keep going till reaching Thep Satit District. Then take another left-turn to the road no. 2354 to arrive at the Pa Hin Ngam National Park.
Accommodation in Chaiyaphum
It is recommended to reserve the place in advance due to the room scarcity during the festival. The Pa Hin Ngam National Park also provides basic accommodation for tourists in their compound: 3 guesthouses for 64 people and campground for 100 campers. Contact the park office at the no. 01 307 1673. Other lodgings are resorts ranging from 2,000 baht a night for 20 people to 400-500 baht a night for a couple.
About Chaiyaphum
Chaiyaphum is one of the most pristine provinces of Thailand's Northeast. Its Krajiew blossom fields attract thousands of visitors each year. During the rainy season, waterfalls are teaming with water, making it very pleasant to make an excursion into the nature. The province is also significant in terms of history too. So far, many ruins and ancient relics of some eras have been found there. All are worth studying.
Getting around Chaiyaphum
Tad Tone National Park: It is a national park with at least three beautiful waterfalls within, the most outstanding and accessible one is Tad Tone Waterfall. The Lam Patao River flows to join the Chee River within the park area. The falling stream is only 6 feet high but the waterfall panel expands as much as 50 metres, warmly embracing swimmers in the pool below. The next two waterfalls are no less beautiful, Datfa Waterfall and Pha Eieng Waterfall.
