Bhumibol Dam International Mountain Bike Championship 2003

All local and international bikers are welcome to participate in the 2nd Bhumibol Dam International Mountain Bike Championship 2003, on August 31, 2003 in the northern Tak province. The race is co-organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand(TAT) and the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand(EGAT).

The Bhumibol Dam is regarded as one of the ideal venues for the mountain bike and other outdoor sports and activities because of its beautiful and diverse landscapes in Thailand. The event aims to promote the outdoor sports among general public in both national and international level. Also it intends to boost the eco-tourism at EGAT's dams in various parts of the country and to encourage Thai people to preserve the country's natural tourist sites.

The Mountain Bike race is categorized into three main classes:
- Professional
- Amateur
- Family teams

Each category is divided into an open group and groups according to sex & age :

A - Professional - 40 km
Men
- Open
- 18 and under
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50 and up
Women
- Open
- 18 and under
- 35 and up

Starting time at 2pm - Entry fee: THB400

B. Amateur, 24 km
Men
- Open
- 15 and under
- 18 and under
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50 and up
Women
- Open
- 15 and under
- 18 and under
- 30 and up

Starting time at 10am - Entry fee: THB300

C. Family Team - 24 km
- Father & son (12 and under)
- Father & daughter (12 and under)
- Mother & son or daughter (12 and under)

Starting time at 8am - Entry fee: THB300

Trophies and money prizes will be awarded to winners and first to fourth runner-ups of each category. However, any category that has less than 5 participating people (or teams), only the winner will be awarded. As for any category of less than 10 participating people (or teams), only the winner, the first runner-up and the second runner-up will be awarded.
