Asia Auto Parts & Repair Expo Thailand

Asia Auto Parts & Repair Expo in Thailand

All roads lead to the Asia Auto Parts & Repair Expo 2003 in Bangkok - Thailand's auto parts and repair industry in threshold of exponential growth.

The auto parts industry, the third largest generator of income to Thailand is geared up for higher growth, with the Thai government placing concrete policies and strategies to increase overall automotive production target of 800,000 million baht by 2006. Of this amount, more than 200,000 million baht will be from auto parts alone.

Keeping in tandem with the trend, and considering the need for a platform to accelerate this growth, BITEC is organizing its own "Asia Auto Parts & Repair Expo (AAPRE) 2003" exhibition from 4-7 September 2003, at the BITEC exhibitions halls in Bangkok, Thailand. The AAPRE 2003 trade fair is endorsed by the Thai Auto-Parts Manufacturers Association (TAPMA).

In a press conference held on May 29, 2003 to launch the trade exhibition, BITEC's President & CEO, Dr. Prasarn Bhiraj Buri said that AAPRE 2003 is a collaboration between BITEC, TAPMA, and automotive related organizations that would jointly want to see Thailand established as the manufacturing base of auto parts industry in Asia and the world. With extensive experience and expertise in organizing international automotive trade exhibitions, BITEC is confident that the AAPRE will be highly successful.

The Association recognizes the trade exhibition as an appropriate and timely opportunity for Thai manufacturers to showcase their production capability and product range, and promote these to global markets. More importantly, it would help to reinforce Thailand's position as an Asian center for high quality auto-parts and repair equipment.

Also, the opening of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) will certainly have a substantial impact on Thailand's auto-parts industry. In line with this, Thailand's manufacturers must be able to adapt to a new free trade environment by upgrading their production systems and capabilities. Their new perspectives will include placing the highest priority to develop technology, design, quality control, and marketing.

The AAPRE 2003 trade show in Bangkok has the support of the Royal Thai Government and key auto industry organisations in Thailand, such as the Ministry of Industry, Department of Industrial Promotion, Department of Land Transport, the Office of the Board of Investment (BOI), Thailand Automotive Institute, Thai Automotive Industry Association, Thailand's Auto Parts Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries, Society of Automotive Engineers, Thai-German Institute, Technology Promotion Association (Thailand – Japan), Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, Thai Foundrymen's Society, and Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand.

Asia Auto Parts & Repair Expo 2003 trade fair in Bangkok Thailand is expected to showcase over 400 exhibitors from 20 countries, comprising auto part and components manufacturers and suppliers as well as after market and special commercial vehicles. Some of the leading companies which have booked exhibition space includes Denso (Thailand), Siam Group, Somboon Group, Summit Group, Thai Rung Union Car, Wichien Dynamic Industry, Aeroflex International, Asia Kendy, Sika (Thailand), Hafale, etc.
