The Industrial Technology Exposition and Conference for the Eastern Seaboard's Manufacturing Circle.
Thailand's industrial eastern zone consists of Chonburi, Rayong, Samutprakarn, Chachoengsao, Prachinburi, Chantaburi, Trat and Sakaeo. This prime zone is famous in being the manufacturing bases for a number of both local and international entrepreneurs in particular the area of Chonburi, Pattaya and Rayong, which are so called the eastern seaboard areas. On top of that, it is believed that the eastern seaboard is the ideal geographical area for industrial development.
According to that view, it is absolute that Rayong, in specific, has offered the solid reason to believe so considering its firmly industrial estate development in Thailand, which started in 1995.
Regarded Detroit of the East, this location has become one of the most integrated automotive manufacturing bases in the world. This is due to the selection by Ford and Mazda in 1995, and General Motors in 1996. Along with 6 Toyota group suppliers also in production at the area, a strong integrated supplier infrastructure exists with over 50 automotive related companies to date including glass, plastics, steel service centers, forging plants, chemical and other related activities.
Moreover, the eastern seaboard in Thailand still has room to grow. The continuing relocation of international factories to the area and the positive sign of new growth for Thai manufacturing companies are strong indications of a consecutive expansion in this region's manufacturing sectors, for example automotive and auto parts, building materials, metal processing, electronics and medium industries.
