Chantaburi, Thailand - Thousands of Thais flocked to a Khao Khitchakut National Park in this eastern province of Chantaburi this morning to support a local government sponsored program to start replanting the province's forests and National Parks with orchids, Chantaboon yellow orchids.
The program, organized by the provincial administrative organization in conjunction with public and private sector agencies, hopes to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand on the occasion of her birthday anniversary by planting more than 4,000 of the rare orchids in the forests of Khao Khitchakut National Park.
The local administration hopes that the orchid replanting program will not only help revive stocks of the orchid, which is local to the province, but will also give a boost to the province's tourism
