Apec 2003 Bangkok Thailand: Wives of the world economic leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) are invited to a special fashion show today in Bangkok, featuring the finest of Thai silk, the fashion show will rake place during a luncheon hosted by Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, wife of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of Thailand.
Yesterday, supermodels selected from the 21 APEC countries attending the Apec 2003 summit in Bangkok rehearsed for today's fashion show scheduled to take place at noon.
These super models include Akari Agiyama from Japan, Unis Shan from Hong Kong, Chamen from Singapore, and Methinee Kingpayom from the Kingdom of Thailand.
The star models will wear international outfits made from refined Thai silk by the renowned Thai Fashion House, Nagara for Jim Thompson, designed by Nakorn Sampantharak.
Also to be displayed during the fashion show in Bangkok are products from the government's One Tambon, One Product Thailand Project.
The fashion show, which is part of the government's Bangkok City of Fashion Project, will exhibit the elegance and beauty of Thai silk from Thailand.
The Bangkok City of Fashion will commence early next year.
