American pop stars Britney Spears will perform concerts in Bangkok, Thailand during her world tour concerts this year, where she will showcase songs from her latest album "In The Zone", the Bangkok concert promoter has announced yesterday.

Boonperm Intanapasat, general manager of Matching Entertainment Ltd in Thailand, which also brought Mariah Carey to Bangkok, said that the deal for the Britney Spears concerts in Bangkok, during her world tour, had been finalized this week.

"We contacted Britney Spears through the same promotion agency that handled Mariah Carey," Boonperm said.

The agency decided to allow Britney Spears to give concerts in Bangkok because they had been very satisfied with the Thai security team provided for Mariah Carey, Boonperm added.

"The Thailand organization of the concert, the Thai security team and police had impressed them."

While the date has not yet been set, Britney Spears is likely to perform two concerts at The Impact Arena in Bangkok. Normally Britney Spears wanted to perform in a huge outdoor stadium in Bangkok, but that's unlikely since she'll be in Thailand during the rainy season."

Boonperm declined to reveal the concert fee, but said it would be about double the price of the Carey concert. He further said that Spears would also have a bigger entourage than Mariah as Britney will bring 80 crew and 10 management personnel to Bangkok, while Carey only brought 36 crew and 10 management members to Thailand.

Spears will perform at the Impact Arena in Bangkok Thailand as part of her world tour of concerts, Boonperm said.
