Fat-food franchise chain Pizza Hut in Thailand is extending delivery hours to better serve hot pizza to Thai soccer fans who stay up late at night to watch the live broadcasts of football matches underway in Europe.
According to The Nation newspaper, customers will be able to get pizza delivered from Pizza Hut until midnight, 2-hours later than normal, throughout the 2-week Euro 2004 soccer tournament.
To commemorate the event, the Pizza Hut franchise chain in Thailand is also introducing a Euro Four Pizza that has four types of sausage toppings.
Panithan Sethabutra, managing director of Yum Restaurants International in Thailand, operators of the Thai Pizza Hut franchise chain, said the company hired 1,000 additional delivery drivers at its 83 Pizza Hut locations country-wide to meet the expected late-night pizza demand.
Two years ago Pizza Hut franchise restaurants throughout Asia and the Far East claimed sales increases of as much as 20 percent during the month-long World Cup soccer tournament.
