European travel agents on an inspection tour in Thailand have seen unbelievable scenes of reconstruction and very clean beaches in Phuket and confirm that Phuket is open for tourism although it will still take some time for the the smaller island of Koh Phi Phi and the area of Khao Lak to be completely cleaned up.
A group of mayor European travel agents have traveled to Phuket in Thailand to check if the Phuket hotels and beaches were ready to receive European holidaymakers. Their conclusion is that Phuket is up and running with no shortage of anything and beaches cleaner than ever.
The group of travel agents have been greeted with great enthusiasm by the operators of many Phuket hotels and resorts as more than 200,000 Thais that work in the hospitality and related tourism businesses have their jobs are high risk if tourists stay away after the Tsunami wave from December 26.
European tour operators have now announced that charter flights with tourists from Scandinavia and Germany will resume to Phuket within the next weeks.
