Thailand: Beer Chang owner joins Forbes list of world's richest people
The Thai owner of the Beer Chang brewery in Thailand, has joined the Forbes list of the 600 richest people in the world, joining the owners of Red Bull and Charoen Phokaphand.
Khun Charoen Siriwattanaphakdee, the owner of Chang Beer Brewery has taken the 194th place on the Forbes list with and estimated wealth of 3 billion US-dollar, Khun Charoen has built up the Beer Chang brand and the Mekong liquor empire to the extent that his companies nowadays even sponsors a major UK prime football club.
On the 292nd place of the Forbes list of most richest people appears Khun Chaliew Yuwittaya, owner of Red Bull energy drinks and on the 387th place we find Khun Thanin Jierawanon, president and owner of the Charoen Phokaphand food group in Thailand.
Khun Charoen's presence on the Forbes list of top billionaires this year has been attributed to the listing of Beer Chang on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
But the three Thai billionaire business owners still have a long way to climb on the Forbes top list, where at the top, the number one and two places are occupied by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.
