Bangkok Motor show draws huge crowds despite high oil prices
Thailand Bangkok: The current high oil prices in Thailand appear not to shake Thais eagerness for new cars as could be witnessed by an exceptionally high number of visitors to the Bangkok motor show this week in the capital of Thailand.
The 26th Bangkok International Motor Show at the BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center) from March 23 until April 3 has drawn a record batch of visitors. The 32 vehicle brands at this year's Bangkok International Motor Show sold 15,287 cars at the exhibition, said a source in Thailand.
The top sales of new cars during the Bangkok International Motor Show at the BITEC were recorded as follows: Toyota with 4,000 cars, followed by Isuzu with 1,900 cars, Mazda with 1,624 cars, Chevrolet with 1,200 cars, Honda with 1,100 cars, Mitsubishi with 1,099 cars, Ford with 950 cars, Nissan with 650 cars, Mercedes Benz with 550 cars, Kia with 404 cars, BMW with 400 cars, Volvo with 215 cars, Cetron with 117 cars, and Audi with 32 cars.
The organizers from the 26th Bangkok International Motor Show said that the purchasing power and demand for new cars, from the people of Thailand, seemed to increase despite the continuing rise in oil and fuel prices.
