fake ferrari car made in thailand

A fake Copy-Ferrari that was made in Thailand has become the superstar at an exposition of piracy goods, during an anti-counterfeit conference held by the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.

The Ferrari sports car is on display as an example and warning against the dangers of piracy merchandise and pirated brand goods.

This pirated copy of a Ferrari P4 model, of which originally only three were constructed by Ferrari in 1967, was build in a small backstreet car repair shop in Bangkok, Thailand. The piracy Ferrari is powered by a Japanese Subaru engine instead of the 12 cylinder, 450 horse power original power source.

From the Ferrari P4 model, there were only 3 ever made and today each of them are valuable collector's items. The tree original cars are all accounted for and are parked behind private doors. Their current value is estimated at US$ 15 million each.

This cleverly build copy Ferrari P4 car was assembled using nothing else than Japanese auto parts, and was about to be shipped from Thailand to a customer in European when Thai police confiscated the car following a tipoff.

On the outside, the replica Ferrari looks, in every detail, completely the same as the original masterpiece and is an amazing example of the craftsmanship of counterfeiters that nowadays flourish in South-East Asia. Piracy goods and fake brand goods nowadays are eroding the profits of manufacturing corporations worldwide and costing governments billions of dollars in lost tax revenue.

Pirated goods are not only an economic problem, but have become, with all the piracy medications available for sale on the Internet, a danger for public health.

Nowadays counterfeiters are into everything. Twenty years ago they were merely into watches and luxury brand leather goods. Today they are into everything, electronics, food stuff, medicine, car parts and even spare parts for the aviation industry

A spokesman for the foundation said as much as 80% of the pharmaceuticals sold via the Internet are fake.
