The opening events of Burapa Pattaya Bike Week 2009 in Pattaya got off to a fine start with the Street Party in Jomtien Soi 4.
The event was well attended by the biking fraternity who, apart from admiring the numerous examples of Harleys on show, gave a warm welcome to the opening artists of the 3-day event.
In Jomtien, we noticed not one voice raised in anger and not one fist upheld, apart from to give acclaim to the bands and other perfomers of the Pattaya Bike Week festival.
Bikers, regaled in their traditional leather with the name of their clubs emblazoned on the backs of their jackets, strutted their stuff, with their ladies on their arms, around the soi, each trying to outdo the next with their tatoos and I noticed at least 11.
Richard Rhodes of Nirvana Boutique Suites, the MC, gave an introductory speech, stressing the need to contribute to charity and wishing all well in what was to be a non-stop event.
Pattaya Bike Week (PBW), a three-day event, from February 12-14, starting on Thursday with the Jomtien Soi 4, non-stop, rock-n-roll Street Party and Cabaret, with the main concert on 13th and 14th in Chaiyapreuk Pattaya.
